Shady Nook Cottages is your “year round” cottage resort. Spring, summer, winter and fall, we are here for your vacation pleasure!

In the summer we offer an assortment of on-site activities including volleyball, badminton, horseshoes and a playground for the kids! Our sandy beach offers lots of room to build sandcastles and splash around in the shallow water. Feel free to explore the lake in one of our canoes, kayaks or paddleboats – all included for the enjoyment of our guests.

Our beach faces South for great sunning and every evening in the summer, guests can gather around the campfire on the beach. If you like to fish, Lake Bernard has an abundance of bass, perch, whitefish, rainbow, speckled, brown and lake trout. There is a free boat launch in downtown Sundridge if you decide to bring your own boat!

For guests who are searching for relaxation, Shady Nook is a perfect spot to enjoy quiet mornings on the beach as loons and ducks greet the day. Our many majestic trees offer a perfect place to sit and read a good book. Don’t forget to head to the beach at dusk to view some of the most beautiful sunsets around!

Shady Nook Cottages is also close to many off-site activities. Drive, cycle or hike some of “The Forgotten Trails”. Explore “High Rock Lookout” at the south end of Lake Bernard. You can also find horseback riding, golf and shopping in and around Sundridge.

In the winter, our cottages will keep you warm and comfortable. For those wishing to ice-fish, hike, snowmobile, ATV or X-Country ski - O.F.S.C. Trail 306 crosses our beach and heated ice huts are located approximately ½ kilometre out on Lake Bernard. Nearby, guests will also find downhill skiing, snowboarding, tubing and dog sledding tours!
